Celebration of Sri Ram’s Janmatithi at the headquarters of the I.V.S
As the whole world was celebrating the birth tithi of Sri Ram, the International Vedanta Society too was doing the same. In this regard the Headquarters of the IVS at Amingaon, Assam has undertaken several days long programs to accommodate it. On the evening, starting with Guru Vandana and chanting of Vedic Hymns, the program keep rolling on with some speeches by some prominent personalities of the society. Sri P. K. Roy, vice president of IVS, highlighted the influence of the life of Sri Ram in society and also the similarity between Bhagavan (the founder & core of IVS). Devotional songs/Bhajans were presented by some devotees including the most prominent one, He Ram, by Swami Gangananda which brings tears to eyes. The program was concluded by Chanting of Hare Krishna mahamantra and at last the distribution of Prasad was done.
Celebration of the birth anniversary of the Mother(Guruma) of International Vedanta Society
Birth anniversary of Sanghajanani Guruma has been celebrated on 12th February
2012 at Vedic Ashram, Bongaigaon. Lots of devotees have turned up in the evening
programme. The life of Guruma has been focussed on that special day. Poor and needy
students of Bholanath Adarsha Vidyalaya were given copies, pen and pencils, eraser,
sharpener and fruits two days before the birth anniversary as the school remained
closed that day.
