Once a devotee asked Bhagavan,” How can I help people? Which is the right way?”
To this, Bhagavan replied,” Help only those who have no one to help them or those who are really in need of help. If you try to help those who have a family and able relatives then it will not be correct. Unnecessary help can make one greedy. Eventually, it develops a tendency of demanding help from others, within the man. True Dharma teaches man to stand on his own feet. “
Similarly, an old lady had asked Bhagavan if she can get shelter in the ashram. Bhagavan proclaimed,” Shelter is not given here. This place helps people to stand on their own feet so that they don’t require shelter from others.” This place makes people capable and independent. It helps people to develop enough strength to overcome any impediments of life.
Bhagavan says,” Face it. Don’t run from your troubles. Face it and overcome it. Nothing is tough. You become tougher and the tough will become easy. Vedanta teaches us to be fearless. Abhih!”
